Klaus Budde laid the foundation stone of the company tortec ® GmbH on 19.05.1992. The aim was to give a new name to a product range for the construction of cantilever gates that had been tried and tested since 1980 and introduced to the market in 1984, and to open up further markets.
A second phase was tackled around June 1997 with the move to the company's own property in the Büren-West industrial estate. The direct connection to the A44/A33 and the neighbourhood to the Paderborn/Lippstadt airport underline the chosen location.
Then, in 1999, a complete generation change took place. By taking over 100% of the shares in the company, Andreas Wiegel, who had been managing director since 1993 and an equal partner from 1995, is now the sole shareholder of tortec ® GmbH.
Out of inventiveness and ingenuity, the 083A modular system is presented to our customers and sales partners in 2006.
2009, a modified product line, the aluminium system FST 107A, is introduced to the market. Investments are made in the expansion of products, production techniques and service. In some areas, the company switches from welded construction to cast steel.
The FST 150A system will be launched in 2010, rounding off the aluminium range at the top end.
In 2011, the storage capacity was increased by almost 50% to 2400 m3. This makes just-in-time delivery a promise that can be kept for our customers throughout Europe. With the installation of a solar system and its full use in the company, we are committed to environmentally conscious production.
Since 2013, the track roller blocks of the FST 075 & FST 095 systems have been manufactured as aluminium drop forgings in a state-of-the-art production process. This replaces cast steel and guarantees higher corrosion protection and even greater strength of the entire component.
In 2022, the storage capacity was expanded by another warehouse to a total of 2,900 m2. Furthermore, tortec® GmbH celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2022.
